Description

1991 NABBA Mr. Universe: Men – Prejudging

This truly great Universe was held in Croydon, near London, with 90 outstanding male competitors. It saw Victor Terra taking out his first ever Professional title. Joe De Angelis of USA won his tall class 1 with Rainer Gorbracht of Germany taking out the overall Amateur Universe after winning class 4. It is quite an achievement to win the Overall Amateur Universe title from Class 4.

1991 saw the creation of a brand new class, the NABBA Masters Mr. Universe title for men over 40. Graeme Lancefield of Australia was the first ever winner of this class, defeating the multi titled John Citrone. Graeme is now president and chairman of NABBA Australia.

Of special interest is a very young Mustafa Mohammad placing 2nd in class 2.  He later went on to win the overall Amateur Mr Universe in 1992 and enjoyed a stellar career as an IFBB Pro. He has  competed in 3 Mr Olympia competitions.
