1997 NABBA Universe: Men’s – Prejudging

The world’s best men and women from 22 countries battled head to head in Birmingham England for the prestigious titles of NABBA Amateur Mr. Universe, NABBA Master’s Universe, NABBA Ms. Universe (Physique) and NABBA Ms. Universe (Figure).  This year 91 fantastic men and 53 awesome women trod the Universe stage in an almost gladiatorial battle of epic proportions.

In this, the 49th year of the Universe, we saw an amazing crop of new young athletes with all categories closely fought. The Men’s Prejudging presents the posing routines of all the non top 6 finalists, plus Round 3 comparisons and lineups for all 6 classes (4 Amateur, Professional and Masters).

The overall titles went to:
Eddy Ellwood (England) – Professional Mr. Universe
Grant Thomas (England) – Amateur Mr. Universe
John Citrone (England) – Masters Mr. Universe – third time.
Claudia Mühlhaus (Germany) – Miss Universe Figure
Patricia Veldman (Benelux) – Miss Universe Physique
