1992 SABBA South Australian Bodybuilding Championships – Show

The atmosphere really hotted up as division after division of South Australia’s finest did battle to win the top honours.  In the Teen division, there were two fantastic newcomers – both Vietnamese, and their ages?  Only 15 years and 17 years.  Fantastic physiques for their age and incredible potential for the future!  More newcomers in the Juniors (under 21 years) included Matthew Papandrea, Jason McDougall and Scott Spinks – all only aged 19.  Incredible talent!

Women’s Figure and Women’s Physique lineups were awe inspiring!  Not to be outdone, some of the biggest men in South Australia strode onto the stage in the Men’s Open.  It was a battle royal between the two class winners – Mark Trewartha (Tall Class) and Derek Immervoll (Short Class).  After the dust had cleared Derek eventually came out on top, outmuscling Trewartha in an exciting and tense posedown. Mark had the size and posing expertise, while Derek had the condition and overall package that the judges were looking for. (See main photo front cover above)

The icing on the cake came from the magnificent guest poser – none other than 1992 Mr. World and Mr. Australia KEVIN O’GRADY.
