1996 NABBA Australasian Championships: Women – Prejudging & Show

Held at the exciting new venue, The Camberwell Civic Centre in Victoria on September 21st, this annual event produced some outstanding new national champions.

South Australia had the largest interstate team with 13 competitors: probably the best representation ever in Melbourne – and we walked away with 4 firsts placings from the event.

In this DVD you will see the complete Women’s Contest from all of the posing and comparisons at the PREJUDGING through to posing and all the awards at THE SHOW.

The battles for selection in the Aussie team for the NABBA Universe were intense, World champion Pina Theodoridis was too good for an outstanding Terri Roberts in the Figure Class, while Cheryl Stewart ended up one point ahead of sensational newcomer Kathy Zeljko in the Women’s Physique Class. The muscular and dynamic Debra Ross from S.A. was a clear winner in the Women’s Over 35 Class.

A new class was the Women’s Novice Figure, and those of you who saw a photo of GMV staffer Janet Besson in an old GMV Newsletter will not be surprised to learn that she won convincingly in her national debut. Naturally we put her on this DVD cover! See comment re Pina above.
