1997 NABBA Mr. Universe: Show
The world’s best men and women from 22 countries battled head to head in Birmingham England for the prestigious titles of NABBA Tropicana Amateur Mr. Universe, NABBA Master’s Universe, NABBA Ms. Universe (Physique) and NABBA Ms. Universe (Figure).
This year 91 fantastic men and 53 awesome women trod the Universe stage in an almost gladiatorial battle of epic proportions. In the 49th year of the Universe, we saw an amazing crop of new young athletes with all categories closely fought.
Men’s Show includes the Parade of Nations, and the complete posing routines of the 6 finalists in all classes (4 Amateur, Professional & Masters classes), as well as the posedowns and awards.
The 2 Overall titles went to: Eddy Ellwood (England) – Professional Mr. Universe and Grant Thomas (England) – Amateur Mr. Universe. Eddy Ellwood subsequently went on to set the all-time record of 5 consecutive victories at the NABBA Universe.
