1983 SABBA South Australian Championships: Show – Men & Women

This was the first state championships that we shot on video. Considering the technology of the times, it has stood up well to make a classic Brand New release. The classes included JUNIORS, MEN’S MASTERS, WOMEN’S PHYSIQUE, NOVICE, MIXED PAIRS and MEN’S OPEN.

In the Men’s Open it was victory to Geoff Davies, with second place going to Don Tronolone and 3rd placed Frank Asimakopoulos taking out the Most Muscular award.

In the Women’ section, this was the first ever state title for the women and it was brilliantly won by Helen Maynard from Robin Ratcliffe who in 1984 went on to claim the state title.

Other top competitors included Mark Trewartha and Brian Zadow.
