In 2004, I had the honour of travelling from UK with the 46 Royal Marines Commando, their families and friends on their return to Normandy, France for the 60th Anniversary of D-Day. In these times of human suffering and disasters it is never out of place to remember those who gave their lives to make the world a better place for all of us today.

Description

46 ROYAL MARINES COMMANDO 60th D-Day Anniversary – 2004
Normandy, France   6th June, 2004.  The Video of the event.

In June 2004, I had the honour of travelling from UK with the 46 Royal Marines Commando, their families and friends on their return to Normandy, France for the 60th Anniversary of D-Day. In these times of human suffering and disasters it is never out of place to remember those who gave their lives to make the world a better place for all of us today. This moving video record is now available on DVD. I rate this as one of the most important videos I have ever made.

This DVD set is about honour, remembrance and our collective thanks for the selfless sacrices made by these brave men. It is thanks from our generation to these men who fought for the right to freedom that we enjoy today.

This video provides a complete record of the veterans’ visit to the towns of ROTS, BAYEUX, RANVILLE, SALLENELLES, SANNERVILLE, DOZULÉ HILL 112 and BEUZEVILLE in Normandy. These were places that the 46 Royal Marines Commando liberated in the days following D-Day. In each town they were welcomed by local dignitaries.
