In 1982 he won the German Championships in the light-heavyweight class and has also represented Germany in international amateur contests.   Besides being a fine athlete, he ran a successful gym in Essen for a long period of time, coached many athletes and was an mentor for a young Ralf Moeller in the late 1970’s.   As far as we know he suffered from Diabetes but the cause of his death has not yet
